This week our church had a friend and prophetic voice in from the UK. Pastor Nicholas Lebey who ministers in London, England has consistently spoken life and vision into our church since it was birthed in 2008 so it is no surprise that he had a message just for us. Pastor Nicholas shared that our church would grow in “Life” and “Influence”.
On Sunday he ministered on the 5 C’s that would be a part of our upcoming season. 1. Call 2. Character 3. Courage 4. Community 5. Creativity. Feel free to listen to the message by clicking the link above because I will not go into those areas here. I desire to write briefly about "C" #6 which is “Cherish”. We must “Cherish” the men and women God divinely brings into our lives. I have learned that the amount of people and other influences that come into our lives is staggering. How do we know which influences to focus on and to what degree? Is this person here for a lifetime or a season? Is it more or less critical to focus on the lifers or the seasonal? If you stand under a tree all year that only bears fruit for 3 out of 12 months then you should have been more discerning of the seasons and intentional within them. Divine friendships and partnerships are much more complex and much more important when it comes to fulfilling God's call and purpose in your life. In order to reach your full potential and therefore make the greatest impact on the kingdom of God we must have deep relationships. To become aware that God has brought someone into your life in order to enrich it and to advance the kingdom is like finding a gallon of water in the middle of a desert you didn't realize you were in. So on to the "Cherishing". These relationships must be invested into, nurtured, given unto as much as drawn from, and prioritized. This is a good working definition of the word "Cherish". While God is infinite and without limits we are not. We only have so much time and ability to connect with people. Therefore we must be discerning and wise in our decisions with regard to our resources. We are men and women with "Dreams, Visions & Limited Resources". I leave you with this challenge to take into prayer. The divine friendships and partnerships that must be "Cherished" are not always the easiest to identify as being such. They often come with challenge and difficulty as much as encouragement and inspiration. Sometimes, as is the case with Nicholas and The Way, they are separated by thousands of miles and oceans rather than by just a few city blocks and conflicting calendar appointments. Pray to The Lord of all that He allow you to see in the 6th "C"-mension!
