In the Super Bowl I want you to consider that God is more concerned with the actual “TEAMS” then He is with whether or not they win or lose…
The same is true in our lives… God uses the game to work out things in the team… and God uses this world to work out things in our lives and in the community we know as the church… The game and this world are just a backdrop for the real work that God is trying to do in our lives… When we focus on the game and the world instead of the work of the Lord in our lives we can never truly be victorious … A very wise woman woman named Rosie Perez who played Gloria in White Men Can’t Jump said: Sometimes when you win, you really lose. And sometimes when you lose, you really win. And sometimes when you win or lose, you actually tie. And sometimes when you tie, you actually win or lose. Winning or losing is all one organic mechanism, from which one extracts what one needs. We do have an opportunity to extract what we need if we seek the One who put what we need deep in the sea of our circumstances… If you knew you were going to win the game of life no matter what, what would you focus on?… I’d focus on every lesson I could learn and every joy I could experience and every difficulty I could overcome… THIS IS CALLED “SALVATION”… To know that you have already won eternal life… So what does it mean to be a part of a “TEAM”?… TEAM is when you focus on every person you could help to be victorious and how they also make your victories more glorious… Exodus 17:8-11 8 Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim. 9 And Moses said to Joshua, "Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand." 10 So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. Imagine Moses trying to connect with God on the top of the mountain and watching his army battle… He knows that his ability to lift his hands to the Lord means life or death for his team and his nation but is physically unable to keep his hands up… What a torturous situation to be in… imagine if it was your spouse battling or your kids and your arms are beginning to fall… Exodus 17:12-13 12 But Moses' hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13 So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. Can we see how important TEAM is?… Are you leading and holding up your arms for someone today?… Are you allowing yourself to be led today?… Are you willing to hold up someone else's arms?… Are you willing to fight?…
